Also known as Narendranath Datta or Narendranath Dutt, was a prominent Hindu spiritual leader and reformer in India. He was born on January 12, 1863, in Calcutta (now Kolkata) and passed away on July 4, 1902, near Calcutta. Swami Vivekanand aimed to harmoniously blend Indian spirituality with Western advancements, recognising the mutual enhancement and compatibility between the two. He believed that the individual's true essence, known as the Absolute, resided within oneself. According to Swami Vivekanand, dedicating oneself to the service of humanity was the most noble and worthwhile pursuit. In his teachings, he advocated for the integration of spiritual enlightenment and material progress as integral components of a fulfilling life.
